Hee-Haw Dance!

Tonight was our church's first social dance where we were able to fellowship and enjoy a night full of dancing! I was on the committee and we started planning this event since the summer, so to see it all come into place tonight was a lot of fun and very rewarding! We had a DJ and a line dancing instructor who also brought 3 couples who were dancing among us to get everyone on the dance floor. It was great! Almost everyone participated in learning the line dancing moves! Here are some pictures from the night:

TGIF!

I got a chance to Skype with Caleb today. We had a long Skype date...what a blessing! I'm always so happy whenever I see him. It's crazy how fast time can go by and how slow it can feel at the same time.  My real estate classes seem to be flying by (midterm next week!), and yet this deployment is dragging even though we're on our last leg! A couple more months to go!!!!
Must. Have. Stamina

Happy Friday to everyone! Enjoy the weekend! Angel and I went out for a walk this afternoon because the weather was amazing. Reminds me of perfect San Diego weather. We also found a secret path that leads straight to the beach here, so we walked about a mile down on the sand.

Tonight I'm meeting a friend for dinner. Her husband is still deployed with Caleb so we're celebrating another week down before our men get home!

XOXO,
Nancy

My Protege

Angel does a remarkable job portraying her mommy! Here are three photos that capture so perfectly what this past week has been for me.

Excited to study, study and study!

Let's lay down for a moment, shall we?

*snore* zzzzzzzzz....

good night all!

One more class tomorrow, then I'm done for the week!

Break time!

Taking a quick break from studying. I'm enjoying the class a lot. Our midterm is next Thursday (already!), so   any free time I have, I'll be using it to study. But, every studious student still needs a break! So, here's me and Angel sending some love your way!

Spoiling her with kisses

We're watching an episode of Dog Whisperer together! She loves the show!

Hugs and kisses. We love you!

My favorites

My service dog! Training her to hold stuff for me so that I don't have to carry everything. Hopefully, she can help me carry in some groceries soon!

Dress up time! Poor Angel, what she endures when I'm bored. =)

I love cuddling with her on the sofa. I used to be so against it, but it sure feels good to have a snuggle bunny when I'm alone at night!

She is so precious. I just love her more each day.

That's my Angel.

Homecoming

Just wanted to share some pictures of the homecoming last Friday of some of the VMU-2 Marines. I was glad I went because I know how thankful the ladies were that I was able to capture their special moment. I can't wait to have mine!

The Marines are here! You could feel the excitement in the air!

Everyone was eagerly awaiting them to get off the bus!

Prayers

Pray for the tragic events that are occurring in the world, especially the protests and riots aimed at the United States.
Pray for the fallen Marines who died last night in Afghanistan during an attack and for the two servicemen that were killed today.
Pray for their families who have lost their loved ones.
Pray for Caleb's safety and for God's protection to be around him and his unit who are there.
Pray for me. That I will choose to trust God in a time of chaos & distress and not listen to my fears.
Pray for the other wives in my unit who don't know Christ and who are scared as well. Pray that this will draw them nearer to Him, to trust in Him, and that my faith will be a testimony to God's glory.

It breaks my heart that such evil exists in this world, and yet, God's grace covers all. I am thankful that I know that God is bigger and greater than anything. I am so thankful for knowing him personally that in a time where so much is going on, I can draw strength from him.

During my devotions, I came upon this quote that explains everything that I am feeling.
"I am thankful for the unknowns and that I don't have control because it makes me run to God."

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

Today was the homecoming from the majority of Caleb's unit. I can't wait until it's my turn to reunite with him. A lot of happy tears and hugs were shared. I'm glad that I went to take pictures of some of my friends' reunion, even though I knew I would have mixed emotions being there (happy and sad all at the same time. Caleb, I can't wait until I'm running into your arms!). I'll be posting pictures soon for everyone to see. I'm very proud of our military and the sacrifices they make and the sacrifices the family makes as well. Please keep them in prayer as the protesting and rioting continues around the world.

"The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior; thou saved me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies."~ 2 Samuel 22:3-4.
