Pot roast!

Caleb and I went grocery shopping last night and decided that we will enjoy my famous pot roast in this Gowan household before we head off to CA next week. It makes for great leftovers, so we will be eating this for the next couple of days. Here's the delicious recipe if any of you are in a bind and in need of a good ol' hearty meal to satisfy your hunger:

3 red potatoes (I used 5 because Caleb and I fight over the potatoes, haha!), 3 carrots (I used 4), 1 celery, and 1 medium onion.

Salt, pepper, 1 package of dry onion mix, and 1 cup of low sodium beef broth (I didn't have any on hand, so I just made my own!)

I used a 3.5 lb of well marbled chuck roast. The recipe calls for 4lbs, but this was the largest one they had.

Heat a couple of tablespoons of oil in a skillet and brown the roast on all sides.

See? It's browning.

Put the roast in your slow cooker and then sprinkle the dry onion mix on top, then add the broth.

Cut up the carrots and the onions and add that to the crock pot.

Peel and cut the potatoes and throw them in as well.

Lastly, cut up the celery and then you're done!

Set the crock pot for 9 hours on low heat.

....9 hours later...enjoying a nice hot meal with my number one man!

He's super excited to dig in.

And he gives this dinner an A+!

Lots of changes and unknowns with Caleb's career, so please keep us in prayer. We ultimately trust God's perfect and unfailing plan for us, and we're buckled in for the ride! We're off on Monday to the great state of CA to visit the grandparents up north (and to see his parents!!!), and then we'll be in San Diego shortly after. We are so excited for our trip!

Happy Wednesday to you all!

XOXO

The First Week of December

Life has been busy this month. Good busy, though! We have a ton of church events that both Caleb and I are involved with, so this week has been a little hectic juggling and managing our time. Last night was the women's Christmas party and I had the privilege of playing the piano and leading the women in worship with some Christmas carols. I also have been working with a few of the youth girls who sang "Mary did you know" as special music for the program. The girls did wonderful and I am so very proud of them! I am one proud mama!

The wonderful table setup

My lovelies...I love how they sing without any inhibitions, and how pure their voices sound!

My good friend Jen was able to make it as well! We had a lot of fun partnering together during the games and I even won a prize for one of them =)

Me and Mary. She's in my small group and she is such a joy to be around.

Caleb and Angel had some fun without me being at home ;)

I love them.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

XOXO
